Richmond, Va., October 23, 2008 -- Jay M. Weinberg,
Chairman Emeritus of Hirschler Fleischer, has been selected as one of
Virginia Lawyer's Weekly's "Leaders in the Law." Mr. Weinberg is being
honored for his leadership in the development of the Nuremburg
courtroom reconstructed at the Virginia Holocaust Museum.
Mr. Weinberg was one of Hirschler Fleischer's original associates.
Since joining the firm in 1959, he has handled virtually all forms of
sophisticated real estate matters in his career. He is a member of the
American College of Real Estate Lawyers, has been included in the Best Lawyers in America since it was first published in 1983 and rated by Chambers USA as one of the top land use attorneys in Virginia.
His career as a public servant is just as admirable as his career in
law. Mr. Weinberg has served as rector of Virginia Commonwealth
University and on the Board of the Medical College of Virginia
Hospitals. He was involved in the establishment of the Virginia Biotech
Research Park and VCU's School of Engineering. Mr. Weinberg is former
President of the Jewish Community Federation of Richmond, Congregation
Beth Ahabah and the Jewish Community Center.
"We are proud of Jay Weinberg as a Leader in the Law particularly for a
project such as the Nuremberg Courtroom which epitomizes his passion
for the rule of law and justice and his devotion to education, which is
the central mission of the Virginia Holocaust Museum," remarked Jim
Weinberg, President of Hirschler Fleischer.
