Sheila deLa Cruz is an attorney in the Litigation Section. Her primary practice areas are bankruptcy law, general commercial litigation, creditors' and debtors' rights, and business immigration. Before practicing law, Sheila worked as a television reporter for CBS 5 News in Syracuse, New York.

  • Representation of individual and corporate debtors in complex Chapter 11 cases
  • Representation of creditors in Chapter 11, 13 and 7 cases, including secured lenders, vendors, landlords and service providers
  • Filing of L-1B and H-1B1 visa petitions to obtain non-immigration visa for client-company's overseas employee
  • Presentation to more than 100 employees of client-company regarding workplace discrimination
  • Investigation of and assistance to client-companies in resolving internal sexual harassment claims filed by employees
  • Defense of non-profit organization in lawsuit filed by individual plaintiff regarding dispute involving organization's inheritance of real estate from a decedent's Last Will and Testament
